Dewitt Jones, a photographer for National Geographic, told this story in his show "Celebrate What's Right With The World." If you haven't seen this movie, you should. It will rock your world.
Here's the story...
Jones was sent to do a piece on Marianne Campbell, a world-renown weaver from Scotland. He knocked on the door, and she came to the door. He asked if she could weave for him so that he could take some pictures. She told him that her brother was very near death upstairs, but if he would allow her an hour with her brother, she would weave for him. An hour passed and out she came. He was astounded at her talent. Her homemade dyes were beautiful to behold. He asked her what she thought about when she weaved. He assumed her answer would be about her brother or about her past, but her answer was simple. She said with a smile on her face, "Whether or not I'm going to run out of yarn." She noticed his confused, almost disappointe look at her answer. She laughed and said, "Mr. Jones, when I weave, I weave."
That statement is so simple, and yet in its simplicity, so profound. Why can't we all be like Marianne Campbell and live in the moment? This is my new life motto. Wherever I am, I want to BE THERE not only in body, but in mind. Whatever I'm supposed to be doing, I want to DO IT and do it to the best of my ability. I want to live in the moment. Today's the day, now's the time.

Kamilla! I love that! I thnk that is a great life motto. Thank you so much for sharing. I know I always get caught up with whatever I need to get done.. but I just need to learn to enjoy the journey and "weave, when I weave" :) Kamilla, you are amazing. Thank you for always thinking so deeply about life and sharing your thoughts with me. Thinking deep is something I should do more often. Oh guess what?! I just finished "The Last Lecture"! It was so good! Thank you! haha I love you!
